Five Little Pumpkins

We have a had a busy few weeks getting ready for Halloween. One of our activities was learning the poem, "Five Little Pumpkins". They did a great job with this and hopefully have told you at home already! Thank you parents for a wonderful Halloween party. The kids loved it.

Last Week

We had a great week last week learning about the letter F. We loved reading the Froggy books. You might want to look for these at the book fair coming up soon. We also read several books with the word Five in the title such as "Five Little Monkeys" and " Five Ugly Monsters".

We glued feathers to the letter F. In Math we reviewed the shapes and made pictures using shapes. We also practiced our cutting skills by cutting out 3 yellow triangles.

Blessing of the Pets Day

Last week was a fun and busy week. We really enjoyed our fire truck visit. The Firemen gave us some safety tips. I imagine that you heard a few and probably had to schedule your own fire drill. They even got to help with the fire hose. It was pretty cool. I will be posting those pictures soon. Below is an album of pictures taken at the Blessing of the Pets and at recess on Friday. You can click on the photo album and view it full screen in Picasa as well as download the pictures.

We have really been enjoying the great weather and have worked especially hard on our large motor skills by riding bikes, jumping, running, and trying to go across the monkey bars. Our St. Michael's day parade was awesome. We were able to wave at the big kids and shout, "Happy St. Michael's day".

Show-n-Tell

Today we had a great Show-n-Tell. We had things related to our theme Community Helpers, the letter C and the color red. The kids did a great job sharing and telling about what they brought.

We had a great week learning about things that start with the letter B. We also talked about Community Helpers. We wondered what the world would be like without garbage men and doctors. We would like to welcome our two new friends. We are very excited to have them in class. Check out these pictures for a glimpse in our week.
